They're ready to go into the wild blue yonder. Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) is hosting a free Air Fiesta show on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, for the first time in six years. The base is inviting the public to watch as planes take to the skies in displays of skill.

Martha A. Sandweiss鈥 website says she's a historian who has written and edited many books on photography and the history of the American West. Sandweiss鈥 newest book brings together those two subjects in a way that shows her extraordinary ability as a historian-detective. She possesses as well a writing style that transforms the people on the page into three-dimensional characters.

Slated to screen first at Santa Fe's Lensic Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 7, and on New Mexico PBS on Thursday, Nov. 14, "An American Vision: The Santa Fe Opera" is the first film documentary to focus on what has become one of the world's most sought-after summer festivals.
