Ski among the clouds: Cloudcroft peaks at 9,000 feet

Located about three-and-a-half hours from Albuquerque, offers 25 different trails of varying levels. Group or private lessons are available for newbies.

The slopes are open weekends and holiday Mondays until Spring Break.

There is no onsite lodging, but the town of has a variety of hotels and cabins for visitors to enjoy.

Here is an overview of what the Ski Cloudcroft has to offer.

Elevation: 8,400 ft. at the base and 9,100 ft. at the top

Ski Trails: 25 total trails, eight are beginner level, seven are intermediate, eight are advanced and two are expert only

Lifts: Three lifts, a double-chair lift, handle tow lift and rope tow lift.

The tubing hills are specially constructed for the company's tube, and there is no designated sledding area. Those wishing to participate must be at least 42 inches tall and be able to ride their own tube. The hill has five lanes and is 700 ft. long with a 70-foot vertical drop.

Tubing is sold in two-hour blocks:

  • 9-11 a.m.

  • 11:30a.m.-1:30 p.m.

  • 2-4 p.m.

Cost:

$35 per person
