More early voting locations open across Bernalillo County
With the November local election drawing near, Bernalillo County is opening 19 additional early voting locations Saturday.
Early voting opened last week at one location 鈥 the County Clerk鈥檚 Office Annex 鈥 and 1,217 people had voted as of Friday afternoon.
Locally, voters will decide who will be Albuquerque鈥檚 mayor, and on four City Council and school board seats, among other issues.
Of the 362,000 eligible voters in Albuquerque, 23% voted in the 2023 local election. However, county officials expect a higher turnout this year due to interest in the mayoral election.
From the Sandias to the petroglyphs, voters can cast ballots at 20 locations across the county. Some include the University of New Mexico, Isleta Elder Center and Tijeras City Hall.
These will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Early voting closes Nov. 1 ahead of Election Day, Nov. 4.
Those who vote in person in Bernalillo County will get 鈥淚 Voted鈥 stickers designed by local schoolchildren. The six new designs include green and red chile, hot air balloons and cactuses.
