鈥淯nderdog Uprising鈥 is a documentary on the New Mexico 近距离内射合集 supporters.

Joaqu铆n Manuel has loved film since he was a child.

As an adult, he鈥檚 worked his way through the film industry 鈥 rising through the ranks.

His most recent project is 鈥淯nderdog Uprising,鈥 which is airing on the Very Local app.

鈥淎bout two years ago, we were contacted by Hearst Media and they wanted us to showcase Albuquerque,鈥 Manuel says. 鈥淲e started down that path with 鈥楢bsolutely Albuquerque鈥 and had a piece with Devon Sandoval of New Mexico 近距离内射合集.鈥

Manuel says Hearst was blown away by the segment on Sandoval that they asked Manuel to develop another piece on the team.

Manuel and Tyler Pavey decided to co-direct 鈥淯nderdog Uprising,鈥 which takes a look at the supporters of New Mexico 近距离内射合集. The pair both work for Albuquerque-based production company, Inspirado.

The 22-minute documentary has been airing since Wednesday, Feb. 28, on the Very Local app.

Pavey says production took place over a couple weeks in the summer during the 近距离内射合集鈥檚 last season.

鈥淛oaqu铆n went down to Las Cruces to get the fans from down there,鈥 Pavey says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about the state coming together. That鈥檚 the whole idea behind the team.鈥

Manuel says he was glad to return home to Las Cruces to showcase the fans that support from the area.

鈥淗aving seen many documentaries in my life, this time we had complete control,鈥 Manuel says. 鈥淚n the editing room, we had an idea of what we wanted to unfold. It鈥檚 taken under a year to really get this to be ready for people to see.鈥

Pavey says the documentary is very much about the supporters of New Mexico 近距离内射合集.

鈥淲ithout supporters, a team is 11 guys on the field,鈥 Pavey says. 鈥淲ith supporters, it鈥檚 a movement.鈥

The editing was done in Los Angeles, and Manuel and Pavey found themselves shipping off edits via U.S. Postal Service on a hard drive.

鈥淚t was very old school,鈥 the pair laughed.

The biggest struggle for the pair was to properly convey who the support system is for the soccer team.

鈥淭here was so much sifting through interviews,鈥 Pavey says. 鈥淗ow do we show the people and what they are all about in 22 minutes? We found out quickly how to quickly convey this message.鈥

During the process, Pavey says one common refrain from the supporters is that many of them weren鈥檛 initially soccer fans and didn鈥檛 watch it until New Mexico 近距离内射合集.

鈥淚t鈥檚 because they were seeing how much good the team is doing within the community,鈥 Pavey says. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a social action movement and that鈥檚 what draws people into it.鈥

Manuel says many of the members of Sektor 114 have become friends.

鈥淚鈥檓 amazed at how it truly is a community and they are there to help each other out,鈥 Manuel says.

Manuel and Pavey are also proud that the entire crew is New Mexican.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not often being a native New Mexican that we鈥檙e given opportunity to be directors and producers,鈥 Manuel says. 鈥淜eagan Karnes (of Inspirado) is changing the New Mexico media landscape. It also feels good to show New Mexico on a national platform. It鈥檚 a thrill to be directing this.鈥

Pavey moved to New Mexico to continue his journey in film. Though he鈥檚 not a native, he鈥檚 found a community.

鈥淚鈥檝e always been searching for a place where I fit in and call home,鈥 Pavey says. 鈥淭he film community here has embraced me and it鈥檚 a great feeling.鈥
