72 exhibitors to showcase works at Art Santa Fe

Art Santa Fe, a contemporary art and design fair with 72 exhibitors from the U.S. and beyond, opens Thursday, July 9, and runs through Saturday, July 11.
Lisa Keating, the executive director of the Santa Fe Gallery Association, said Art Santa Fe is one of the major players in Santa Fe Art Week, alongside the International Folk Art Market.
Linda Mariano, managing director of marketing for Redwood Art Group, which produces Art Santa Fe, said the two fairs differ.
鈥淎rt Santa Fe has a very different look and feel than the Folk Art Market and a different intention of who the exhibitors are and where they鈥檝e come from,鈥� she said.
Warren Keating, director of ViVO Contemporary and executive director of the SFGA, participates in Art Santa Fe alongside other ViVO Contemporary artists.
鈥淭ypically ViVO doesn鈥檛 participate in art fairs or any of that stuff, because we鈥檙e here on the street putting our resources into that on Canyon (Road),鈥� Warren Keating said, 鈥渁nd so we did (Art Santa Fe) for the first time, and we were surprised how many local people that buy art and collect art really just don鈥檛 go on Canyon.鈥�
ViVO Contemporary is located on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, which is home to several galleries and a weekly art walk.
Mariano said fairs like Art Santa Fe and the International Folk Art Market help showcase different artists.
鈥淥ne of the things that the Folk Art Market brings, for example, is a wide breadth of international artists who really celebrate their Indigenous artwork,鈥� she said. 鈥淎rt Santa Fe is a contemporary fine art fair 鈥� where you would see artists and galleries representing contemporary work.
鈥淭hen throughout Santa Fe, each of the galleries represents a collection of artists that have been curated literally from all over the world,鈥� she said.
鈥淪o each of the different venues and organizations have curated a collection that they feel is viable and valuable for an art enthusiast and art lover to see.鈥�
