James and his wife found a new spot on the Cimarron River and both caught their limits of trout using PowerBait on July 9.

Terry took his fellow veterans fishing on the San Juan River and they all had a great day on the water on July 7.

Yazmin had an amazing day and caught her limit of trout at Bonito Lake using Garlic and Peach PowerBait on July 11.

Northeast fishing report

The New Mexico Environment Department is reporting a harmful algae bloom in Charette Lake. Anglers should exercise caution when eating fish caught from the lake, as well as while boating or paddling. Fish should be rinsed throughly with clean water before cooking, and only the fillet portion should be consumed. Swimming, wading, jet skiing, water skiing or allowing pets to swim in the lake is considered unsafe at this time.

Streamflow on the Cimarron River near Cimarron on Tuesday morning was 32.3 cfs. Fishing for trout was fair to good using PowerBait.

The most recent report for the Conchas Lake was July 9. At that time, fishing for walleye was fair to good using green crankbaits.

The most recent report for Coyote Creek was July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was good using Pistol Pete flies.

Fishing for trout at Eagle Nest Lake was very good using Panther Martins. For updated lake conditions, visit the park鈥檚 webpage or call the park office at 575-377-1594.

The most recent report for Eagle Rock Lake was received June 25. At that time, fishing for trout was very good using Peach PowerBait.

Streamflow on the Pecos River near Pecos on Tuesday morning was 32.6 cfs. The most recent report was July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was fair to good using worms.

The most recent report for the Red River was received June 25. At that time, fishing for trout was very good using salmon eggs. Streamflow below the Red River Hatchery on Tuesday morning was 26.3 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande below the Taos Junction Bridge on Tuesday morning was 174 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Hondo near Valdez on Tuesday morning was 9.02 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Mora near Terrero on Tuesday morning was 2.75 cfs.

Northwest fishing report

The most recent report for Abiqui煤 Lake was July 9. At that time, fishing for yellow perch was very good using soft bait on a Texas rig. Contact the Abiqui煤 Lake Main Office at 505-685-4371 for updated lake conditions and closure information.

Streamflow on the Animas River below Aztec on Wednesday morning was 6.81 cfs. Fishing for bass and catfish was fair to good while using live worms and Panther Martins. Fishing for trout was slow to fair using Panther Martins, worms and hot dogs.

Fishing for smallmouth bass at Navajo Lake was slow to fair using white curly tailed grubs and white 鈪�-ounce jig heads.

Streamflow on the Rio Chama below El Vado Lake on Tuesday morning was 108 cfs; streamflow below Abiqui煤 Lake on Tuesday morning was 220 cfs. Please remember, from the river-crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiqui煤 upstream 7 miles to the base of Abiqui煤 Dam are special trout waters with a bag limit of only two trout.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande at Albuquerque on Wednesday morning was 0 cfs.

Streamflow on the San Juan River near Archuleta on Tuesday morning was 996 cfs. Fishing for brown trout in the bait section was fair to good using worms. Fishing for rainbow trout in the quality waters was good using size-22 red annelid flies, hand-tied flies, pinched crawlers and worms.

The most recent report for Seven Springs Kids Pond was July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was very good using Garlic PowerBait.

The department received no reports for the following waterbodies over the past three weeks: Albuquerque Area Drains, Brazos River, Canjilon Lakes, Lake Farmington, Liam Knight Pond, McGaffey Lake, Rio Cebolla, Riverside Park Pond (Aztec Pond #1), San Gregorio Lake, Trout Lakes, Tiger Park Reservoir and Tingley Beach.

Southwest fishing report

Fishing conditions at Bear Canyon Lake have been adversely affected in the aftermath of the Trout Fire.

Fishing for largemouth bass at Bill Evans Lake was very good.

The most recent report for Caballo Lake was received June 25. At that time, fishing for white bass was good to fair using green and orange trolling lures. Walleye remained slow to inactive. Water levels are changing across the lake; boaters should exercise caution in low-water areas.

The most recent report for Elephant Butte Lake was July 9. At that time, fishing for largemouth bass was fair to good using rubber crawdads. The South Monticello and Rock Canyon boat ramps are currently closed due to low water levels. The closure will be lifted when water levels rise and conditions allow. Streamflow on the Gila River near Gila on Tuesday morning was 11.9 cfs.

Streamflow at the Gila Waters near Gila Hot Springs on Wednesday morning was 25 cfs.

The most recent report for Alto Lake was received June 25. At that time, fishing for trout was very good using Kastmasters and worms.

Streamflow on the Black River at Malaga on Tuesday morning was 8.45 cfs.
