Find Waldo hidden in 12 local businesses across Albuquerque this July

Poet Laureate of the 近距离内射合集 States Arthur Sze and Ryo Yamaguchi, publisher of Copper Canyon Press, will discuss Sze鈥檚 book 鈥淭ransient Worlds: On Translating Poetry鈥� at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30.
In addition, there will be readings in Arabic, Din茅, Russian and Spanish, as well as English translations.
Among those reading are Kareem James Abu-Zeid, Carol Moldaw, Leo Romero, Irina Ross and Orlando White.
Sze is quoted online as saying about the book, 鈥淭ranslating a poem with the aid of a fluent speaker builds trust and emotional connection; it forms a bridge where insight and understanding go back and forth 鈥� translation poetry shows that the more you give, the more everyone has.鈥�
Collected Works is located at 202 Galisteo St. in Santa Fe.
WHERE鈥橲 WALDO EVENTS IN ALBUQUERQUE
Candlewick Press and the American Booksellers Association are teaming up with independent bookstores nationwide, including Page 1 Books, for some hide-and-seek during July.
To join in the fun pick up a 鈥淔ind Waldo Local in Albuquerque!鈥� stamp card at any of the participating stores.
With each miniature Waldo they spot, searchers get their card stamped or signed by the participating business. Collecting stamps or signatures at 10 or more businesses entitles searchers to enter into a grand-prize drawing for 鈥淲here鈥檚 Waldo鈥� books and other prizes.
Participants can hunt to find the iconic children鈥檚 book character 鈥� he wears a red-and-white striped shirt and black-rimmed glasses 鈥� hidden in 12 local businesses.
Besides Page 1 Books, participants can find Waldo at Quirky Used Books & More, Slice of Life Anime and Manga, New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, The ABQ Collective, Bugzby鈥檚 Toy Shop, Kumon Learning Center, New Game Plus Gaming Center, Liv & Mimi鈥檚 Play Cafe, The Squidly Store and both Duke City Games locations.

鈥淲here鈥檚 Waldo鈥� is a popular series of children鈥檚 search-and-find puzzle books created by English illustrator Martin Handford. The first book in the series was published in 1987.
BOOK LAUNCH PARTY
The Albuquerque Museum is hosting the launch Sunday, June 28, of the new book 鈥淩oad to Enchantment: A Century of Route 66 in New Mexico.鈥�
The book is a tribute to this year鈥檚 centennial of the Mother Road.
The coffee table-sized book is filled with photographs by Jen Judge, with intimate storytelling and with essays by Lynn Cline, Ungelbah D谩vila, Gwyneth Doland, Madison Garay, Nathaniel Tetsuro Paolinelli and Alicia Romero.
The book covers the history of the historic route鈥檚 465 miles in New Mexico and invites readers to experience the road鈥檚 past and present in a way that feels both nostalgic and newly discovered.
Cline and Steve Gleydura edited the book. Gleydura is editor-in-chief of New Mexico Magazine, which published the book.
The launch party begins at 2:30 p.m. with a welcome and opening remarks by Edward Graves, the magazine鈥檚 publisher, and Lancing Adams, the head of the New Mexico Tourism Department.
A panel discussion follows at 2:45 p.m. with a book signing at 3:30 p.m.
