About 30 train cars derail outside Santa Rosa
No train employees were injured and the incident is under investigation, Union Pacific spokesperson says
About 30 Union Pacific Railroad cars derailed off the tracks about two miles east of Santa Rosa on Tuesday, company spokesperson Jill Micek said in an email.
No train crew members were injured, she said.
According to a city of Santa Rosa social media post, the incident occurred near a golf course that will be closed until further notice.
The cause of the incident is unclear.
As of Wednesday afternoon, cleanup crews were still at the scene. The incident is under investigation, Micek said.
