Albuquerque-based Rude Boy Cookies makes top 10 list for best cookie
A sweet treat always hits the spot.
Albuquerque-based Rude Boy Cookies finds itself mentioned in a USA Today reader poll for the best cookie on July 7.
The poll ranked the company at No. 7 for best cookie.
Mike Silva, who founded Rude Boy Cookies and co-owns the business with Kristin Dowling, said it opened in 2014 and is gearing up to celebrate its ninth anniversary on Sept. 2.
鈥淭o be recognized on a national level is good for business,鈥� Silva said. 鈥淚t justifies our belief that we have one of the best cookies. We always appreciate the support.鈥�
The poll includes small businesses to family-owned endeavors around the country. The shops have been voted as the best in the country for their outstanding confections that keep customers returning over and over again by USA Today readers.
鈥淭he cookies at Rude Boy Cookies are so good that they鈥檝e earned a cult following in Albuquerque,鈥� the poll stated. 鈥淎ll the usual suspects are here, from chocolate chip to red velvet, peanut butter and sugar. Just make sure to also keep the shop鈥檚 award-winning biscochitos (New Mexico鈥檚 state cookie) on your radar.鈥�
Rude Boy Cookies has two locations 鈥� 1916 Central SE and at Avanyu Plaza, 2500 12th NW, near the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.
The company also handles concessions for Popejoy Hall.
On Sunday, Rude Boy will be giving away free chocolate chip cookies to customers at the Avanyu Plaza location beginning at noon while supplies last.
