New Mexico Renaissance Celtic Festival draws thousands to Edgewood
After two weekends of costumes, competitions and role-playing 鈥 both bygone and fantastical 鈥 the New Mexico Renaissance Celtic Festival wrapped up its fifth year. The event concluded Sunday at the Wildlife West Nature Park and Animal Sanctuary in Edgewood after a Golden Egg Hunt for children.
The festival, which started in 2022 with around 8,000 attendees, has grown in popularity. Event organizers estimated more than 20,000 people attended this year, as the festival hosted 120 vendors and expanded to cover two weekends.
On Saturday, attendees dressed the part, with jesters, mythical creatures, sword fights and dancing among the sights. The Loyal Horse Show saw participants compete in trick riding, followed by a Royal Parade with Mary, Queen of Scots.
