Child drowns at Brantley Lake
Officals said no indication of foul play at this time

A child drowned in Brantley Lake on Sunday, officials said.
The Eddy County Sheriff鈥檚 Office and other first responders were dispatched around 4:55 p.m. Sunday to reports a child drowned in the lake, according to a social media post from the agency.
鈥淎t this time, there is no indication of foul play, and investigators have found no evidence to suggest alcohol or drugs were factors in this incident,鈥� ECSO wrote. 鈥淭he investigation is ongoing as is standard procedure for all unattended deaths.鈥�
ECSO did not release the identity or age of the child or any information about the incident.
ECSO also did not respond to calls for comment.
