Corrales appoints new village councilor
Lisa Brown fills the District 4 seat following the death of John Alsobrook

CORRALES 鈥� After the death of Councilor John Alsobrook, the Corrales Village Council has appointed his replacement in District 4.
Lisa Brown was appointed during the council's June 23 meeting and sworn in minutes after receiving approval. She immediately took her seat at the meeting.
"I work with all of you, and with Alsobrook as well, and my condolences to his family. You can't replace him. But I'll bring my best, my brain and experience," Brown said.
Brown brings extensive experience to the role. She is a farmer, a water rights attorney and former chair of the village's Farmland Preservation and Agricultural Commission.
She said she grew up in Corrales and that her family has been active in the community since the 1970s.
"My dad offered his water expertise long ago, and the values that I hold, I learned from growing up here in this village, from this wonderful community. It's always supportive of itself and one another," she said.
