Eastbound I-40 closed for hours due to police investigation

Eastbound Interstate 40 is closed as the Albuquerque Police Department investigates an incident "involving an individual on the overpass along eastbound I-40," APD spokesperson Rebecca Atkins says.

Due to 鈥渁n incident involving an individual on the overpass,鈥� Interstate 40 eastbound was closed on Sunday morning, Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Rebecca Atkins said in a news release.

While it is unclear where on I-40 the incident took place and what happened, Atkins said 鈥渢he individual has been transported to the hospital in stable condition.鈥�

Traffic reopened shortly before noon.
