A man was killed after being hit by a Rail Runner train on Indian School near Second Street late Monday afternoon.

A man was killed after being hit by a Rail Runner Express train on Indian School near Second Street on Monday evening, according to a New Mexico State Police email.
Police did not release the man鈥檚 identity.
At 5:51 p.m., Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a report of a train derailment. When firefighters arrived, they learned there wasn鈥檛 a derailment. Instead, a person had been hit by a Rail Runner train, according to an AFR email.
First responders unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures on the man, according to AFR.
鈥淎t this time, westbound Indian School at Broadway is closed as an investigation is underway,鈥� New Mexico State Police spokesperson Amanda Richards said at 6:28 p.m. Monday.
