Police: Man dies while in custody in SE ABQ

A multiagency task force is investigating the death of a man, who Albuquerque police said died while he was in their custody on Sunday morning.
Police did not release the man鈥檚 identity.
Shortly after 1 a.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 400 block of Tennessee SE, near Trumbull and Zuni. When they arrived, a man had been 鈥渦nconscious, but breathing,鈥� Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said.
After officers arrived, he said the man 鈥渟topped breathing.鈥�
鈥淎ttempts to revive the man were not successful and emergency personnel determined he was deceased,鈥� Gallegos said. 鈥淪ince he was in the custody of police at the time he died, the Multi-Agency Task Force responded to start an investigation.鈥�
Details are limited, but Gallegos said the man was a suspect in a domestic violence incident.
鈥淭he investigation is ongoing,鈥� he said.
