A sewer line collapse on South Second Street could take several weeks to repair, according to the local water utility.

The collapse on Second SW, near Barelas Railroad Park, was reported around noon Tuesday and shut down the road in both directions, the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority said.

"The closure extends from Southern Avenue on the north to Woodward Road on the south, with local business access only," the water authority said. "Motorists are advised to follow all warning and directional signage and to use Broadway as a detour."

The utility said replacing the collapsed line "may take several weeks depending on the availability of materials."
