Let’s take stock on Wednesday and realize what an amazing planet we live on and appreciate it in all its beauty and grandeur. Wednesday is Earth Day — a holiday to connect and protect our planet from the damage our own species is causing to our wonderful planet, and other forms of life.

This Sunday, please join us from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Balloon Fiesta Park for Earth Day New Mexico Festival to learn how we can all make little adjustments that will gather the steam to keep the movement moving forward.

The city of Albuquerque has given the event the entire park. Visitors will find 100 exhibitor booths, a kids’ poetry and art contest, lots of good speakers, and hands-on advice and incentives for going solar, considering an electric vehicle and other energy-efficiency measures on your heating and air conditioning bills.

Yes, there are still tax incentives in the state of New Mexico. Admission is only $5 and kids are free, and we have lots of activities for them. I’ll guarantee by attending, you’ll feel better about yourself and our planet. You will want to make positive steps to preserve our planet that you can brag about to your grandchildren.
