The school year started last week. What genius came up with this SCHEDULE? Do district officials not know it鈥檚 really hot in August? Do they not remember the history of air conditioners not working? Do away with days off in the middle of the school year. Thank you, teachers union. SS
The two-party system has become so POLARIZED that few speak their mind when representing their constituents. This created a system in which representatives (state and federal) are not leading and have become lemmings. We must get rid of Ds and Rs behind titles. RT
The attorney general finds 鈥渟ubstantial racial disparities鈥� in Gallup-McKinley County Schools. The simple solution would be to create a DISCIPLINARY board that is independent of the school to review each of the infractions and the remedial action levied. EN
Father Vincent Ch谩vez states that hatred shouldn't be answered with hatred. In response to a parishioner who had the legal right to complain about him to the archdiocese, he publicly SHAMED the person by essentially calling her a racist by name on the church marquee. Who started the hate? DS
I just read Jeff Tucker鈥檚 article on building a new MOSQUE in the North Valley. Good for you, Mr. Tucker! Every religion should receive the same consideration in our country. It is a central premise of our Founding Fathers. TS
I am pleased and proud of U.S Attorney Jeanine Pirro's just decision to drop criminal charges against our former OLYMPIAN. It gives me a glimmer of hope that under the current administration, the rule of law is followed properly and not weaponized wrongfully for vindictive reasons. DD
I see lots of articles and letters supporting the Muslims building a mosque in Albuquerque. But I don't see any criticism of it. Maybe it's because of things like the Jewish-owned International Delicatessen Foods in Toronto being BURNED. I don't want my house burned so I'll stay quiet. JRM
While state Sen. Bill Sharer seems to have no knowledge of the separation of CHURCH and state, I took his advice and prayed that God would get Trump to resign or be impeached. Sure hope you were right, Bill. RJ

Great Route 66 sign at Tramway and Central for the 100th year celebration. However, the orange BARRIERS are still up at this site. Will the orange barriers on Route 66 be there for the next 100 years? GT
Since when can an alleged crime be partially lawful? Either STAPLETON is guilty or not guilty. The slick approach by her attorney trying to make her look better than a thief by stealing from Johnson is laughable. Either way, it was still public funds and accountability is needed. GH

The Albuquerque MUSEUM is fabulous. Just enjoyed the quilt, Route 66 and Collective Voices exhibits, and I was stunned in January when I saw the Modern Art and Politics in Germany. This is a gem in our own backyard 鈥� go visit this small but mighty museum. BK

Talk about dysfunction. The current federal Cabinet members鈥� actions look like 鈥淭he Three STOOGES鈥� re-runs. Article VI of the U.S. Constitution mandates that executive and judicial officers are bound by oath to support the Constitution 鈥� allegiance is owed to the rule of law rather than to any individual political leader. Excusing large wildfires to climate change conveniently ignores the need to maintain the forestlands. Otherwise, fires will burn HOTTER and larger, as they do naturally without human intervention. N.M. has famously neglected the maintenance of its forests 鈥� no surprise that fellow blue state Washington is suffering the same problem. AN
President Trump won another golf CHAMPIONSHIP last weekend by shooting an incredible 70 and said the other opponents weren鈥檛 as talented as him. If we believe he shot 70 we are as big a fool as him. Where was he at putt-putt? ECH
