Albuquerque High鈥檚 Pavia selected for Mexico tournament
Sophomore Abby Pavia will play for the 16U ADEMEBA-USA national select team in Monterrey, while Albuquerque Academy鈥檚 Zac Borrego commits to Northern Arizona.

Abby Pavia鈥檚 basketball season at Albuquerque High will begin in a couple of months.
But her basketball activities will begin much sooner than that.
Pavia, a dynamic sophomore for the Bulldogs, will be competing in an international event in Mexico later this month.
She has been chosen to the 16U ADEMEBA-USA Women鈥檚 National Select Team, which will participate in the ADEMEBA National Championship Sept 23-27 in Monterrey, a team that will play against teams from throughout Mexico.
ADEMEBA-USA selects youth teams in girls and women鈥檚 divisions to represent Mexican-American talent in various national and international events.
The 5-foot-6 Pavia, entering her third season on varsity, averaged 20.6 points and 7.9 rebounds in a terrific freshman season, and she was named to the Class 5A All-State first team. She already has multiple Division I offers.
BORREGO COMMITS: Albuquerque Academy 6-foot-1 guard Zac Borrego announced on his social media account that he has committed to play for Northern Arizona.
Borrego also had Division I offers from the University of Illinois-Chicago and Southern Utah.
