After some early adversity, Eastdale displayed its trademark resolve, but it wasn鈥檛 enough to give the New Mexico representative another day of baseball in the Southwest Region Tournament.

Eastdale rallied from an early four-run deficit to tie the game before eventually falling 9-4 to Junior Deputy Little League from Little Rock, Arkansas, in an elimination game in the Majors division of the 2026 LLB Southwest Region Tournament on Friday in Waco, Texas.

鈥淭his team has probably battled more adversity this year than they have had in years, which was the experience between district and state, and then coming out here to the big stage in Waco. This is not an easy stage for anybody. It doesn't matter where they come from,鈥� said Eastdale manager Cory Harris. 鈥淭hey gave it their all 鈥�Some early mistakes in this game kind of cost us the momentum that we needed, but they battled back, they showed grit and they never gave up 鈥� so we're super proud of the boys.鈥�

Eastdale could have easily folded following a disastrous first inning that saw it commit three errors while allowing four Arkansas runs. Instead, the team took advantage of a couple Arkansas miscues in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 4-2. That set the stage for what was Eastdale鈥檚 highlight of the tournament, when Wyatt Pitcher hit a two-run homer over the left-center field wall to tie the game at 4-apiece in the top of the third. It was the first home run to leave the yard at Marvin Norcross Stadium during the tournament so far.

鈥淚t's an exciting thing. It changes the whole aspect of the game, and it changed the momentum there for a minute and kept the boys pumped up,鈥� Harris said. 鈥淪o it was a great experience.鈥�

From there, it was all Arkansas. Webb Wilson drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the third, and his squad continued to build on its lead, adding two more runs in both the fourth and fifth stanzas. Meanwhile, Eastdale cooled off, putting just one runner on base over the final three frames.

After getting just one hit as a team on Wednesday, six different players had base knocks for Eastdale, led by Parker Millburn, who went 2-for-3 with a run. Both Millburn and Cash Flanagan had doubles for Eastdale.

"We had a mission. We got here. That was mission 鈥� part one of the mission was to get at least on the ESPN,鈥� Harris said. 鈥淲e wanted to go further, but to watch the development and growth of these boys over the past four years and then to know that I got to live the summer of a lifetime with them, that will be a lasting memory.鈥�
