He watched his dad win an NBA title with them in 2008.

Now, 16 years later and just a few weeks removed from their first NBA championship since then, Jaelen House will be donning the iconic green of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Celtics on Monday released their roster for NBA Summer League and it includes No. 41 Jaelen House 鈥 the former UNM Lobo point guard and son of Eddie House, who played 209 games for the Celtics from 2007-2010 and was a key piece off the bench for their 2008 championship.

Jaelen House, who is in Boston practicing with the team, averaged 15.9 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game for the Lobos this past season and won Mountain West Tournament MVP honors while carrying UNM to four wins in four days to help the Lobos earn the league鈥檚 automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, breaking a decade-long streak of not playing in the Big Dance.

The Las Vegas Summer League starts on Friday and runs through July 22 at UNLV鈥檚 Thomas & Mack Center, where House gained national attention in March for his stellar MVP performance. Included in that was a viral social media clip of him hitting a shot before the game broadcast panned to his father in the stands yelling, 鈥淭hat鈥檚 my mother-(bleeping) son!鈥

Eddie House told the Journal in March after the Lobos beat San Diego State in the Mountain West championship game that he was proud of his son鈥檚 performance on the court and made it a point to remind everyone that the Lobo point guard was writing his own story.

鈥淚 don鈥檛 cast a shadow,鈥 Eddie House said. 鈥淗e鈥檚 making his own footsteps. His name is Jaelen House. And don鈥檛 forget it.鈥

Joining House on the Celtics鈥 Summer League roster are returning Celtics players Jordan Walsh, Jaden Springer and Neemias Queta, the former Utah State star who House played against in the Mountain West.

Also on the Celtics roster will be Boston鈥檚 two recent draft picks 鈥 Baylor Scheierman of Creighton and Anton Watson of Gonzaga.

House had pre-draft workouts with the Celtics and several other NBA teams but was not selected in last month鈥檚 NBA Draft.

The Celtics start play in summer league at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against the Miami Heat, whose roster includes former Colorado State star point guard Isaiah Stevens. That game will be on NBA TV and streamed on ESPN+.

The Celtics play the Los Angeles Lakers, and their high-profile second-round draft pick Bronny James, son of Lakers star LeBron James, at 8:30 p.m. Monday (July 15) on NBA TV and ESPN+.

The Celtics also have scheduled games on July 17 and 19. The league鈥檚 playoffs start July 20.
