Lobos hoops add Mercer to 2026-27 schedule
UNM will host Southern Conference contender Mercer on Dec. 15, leaving two regular-season games to be announced.

The UNM Lobos have added one more piece to the near complete men鈥檚 basketball schedule for the coming season.
The Lobos will welcome Southern Conference title contender Mercer to the Pit on Dec. 15 鈥� leaving UNM with just to regular season games (and one exhibition opponent) still to announce for the coming 2026-27 season.
The Bears, who went 19-13 and finished second in the Southern last season, are the 12th of what will be a 14-game nonconference slate for the Lobos. Of the final two games left to make official, one is expected to be either Eastern New Mexico or Western New Mexico as UNM鈥檚 annual non-Division I opponent (New Mexico Highlands is already off the table for the coming season due to scheduling conflicts).
In addition to the 14 non-league games, UNM will play and 18-game Mountain West schedule and has contracts in place for a road exhibition at Big 12 Oklahoma State and a Pac-12 home game against Washington State.
