Globito Glow in the Village

WHEN: Oct. 5, 2026, from 5-10 p.m

WHERE: Fourth Street from Schulte Rd to Pueblo Solano Rd.

HOW MUCH: Free entry

Globito Glow in the Village is making its return to Los Ranchos.

鈥淚t's just an amazing way to give back to the community, back to the village, back to the residents,鈥 said Los Ranchos Economic Development Board President Brian Maloney.

Globitos are 20-foot-tall, remote-controlled scale-model hot air balloons flown with intricate miniature shapes and fully functioning burners.

The free event will feature 66 balloons in honor of the Route 66 Centennial year.

鈥淚t's a great community event, and it builds a lot of community spirit, which is really what is most important for me,鈥 said Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Mayor Lawrence Rael

There were around 5,500 attendees at the event last year, according to Maloney, and organizers expect to have double that number this year.

鈥"It offers an opportunity for folks that aren't necessarily familiar with globitos to come in and see and experience what these little globitos are about," Rael said.

Rael said that the globitos are not the only reason to come to the event.

"We have great businesses. We have great opportunities for folks to come and enjoy some great food and learn a lot more about the village,鈥 he said.

The event will also feature live music and creative activity stations.

The event will be held Oct. 5 from 5-10 p.m., during which the little balloons will light up Fourth Street from Schulte to Pueblo Solano NW.

A complimentary shuttle service will be located at the Los Ranchos Antique Mall, 7901 Fourth St. NW.
