Renowned street artist Shepard Fairey recently finished two murals in New Mexico, one at the Santa Fe Art Institute and another at the Albuquerque Rail Yards. 

The Albuquerque mural, 鈥淧eople Power Mosaic,鈥� was unveiled during an event on Sunday. The mural honors New Mexico鈥檚 first female governor, Soledad Ch谩vez de Chac贸n. She served as acting governor for two weeks in 1924, becoming just the second woman to act as chief executive of a U.S. state.

Fairey is most known for the 鈥淗ope鈥� poster he designed for Barack Obama鈥檚 2008 presidential campaign.
