Photos: Celebrating America's 250th birthday during Corrales Fourth of July parade
The village of Corrales said, "Happy Birthday, America," with a parade full of flag-painted livestock, tractors and lots and lots of water.
The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off around 10 a.m. Saturday and included floats decked out in red, white and blue, a color guard and Mayor Fred Hashimoto leading the way.
As has been tradition, the parade devolved into an all-out water fight in which participants of all ages grabbed super soakers and water balloons while those trying to stay peaceful and dry fled to the sidelines.
Amid the melee, a stoic Uncle Sam marched through the water-cannon fire.
