Albuquerque-area temperatures topped out at 100 degrees
Jamari Belton, 4, runs through the Civic Plaza Spray Pad on Monday. Albuquerque's official high on Monday was 97 degrees at the Albuquerque International Sunport, but some parts of the South Valley reached 100 degrees, said Michael Anand, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Albuquerque. He said temperatures are expected to say hot throughout the week, but there could be chances for late afternoon storms that bring rain and a potential for flash floods.
