One would think with all our modern technology, drones, etc., we could scan areas and forests where lightning is present and somehow get an earlier start on these FIRES. The poor animals. CH
Absolutely nothing that humans do can affect GLOBAL WARMING one way or the other. So we should stop spending money trying to do it. JRM
Why are animals at the city shelters able to be adopted by individuals who are unable to care for themselves? Every day animals are languishing in the SUN while their person is asking for money. The majority of these animals don't have protection from the elements. N.M., do better. JS
Thank you Secretary Stephanie Schardin Clarke for clearly explaining the reality of repealing INCOME TAX in New Mexico. The reality is getting rid of state income tax is just another way for rich people to not pay their fair share. MLL
I really appreciated Carlos Navarro's column of Aug. 11. I learned from him that many MUSLIM CENTERS are helping those in need by distributing food. They are good neighbors and should be welcomed in our community. PM
Attorney General Ra煤l Torrez sued META because they are so bad and dangerous. Yet his office (along with most public schools, local and state governments) provides links to Facebook and Instagram on his homepage and even has posts on the apps about the judgment against META. HYPOCRITE? JL
President Trump has issued an executive order cutting the number of recommended VACCINES for children and changing the single MMR shot into three shots. When asked for medical or scientific evidence for his decision, Trump said, "Some people say." Our President regulates our health simply because "some people say.鈥� Comforting. AF
Jeff Tucker's regurgitation of the 鈥淚 鉂わ笍 Tim Keller鈥� hoodies mystery from last fall is shameful. Albuquerque's HOMELESS PROBLEM is average for a city our size. Tucker should wear his Trump shoes on his hands to prevent producing such offensive, useless pap. Worship bullies, be a bully, that's Tucker's game. ML
I am saddened to hear that President Biden鈥檚 prostate cancer has gotten worse. He did have HONOR that he never let his ego, and fear of legacy, make him need to build an Arc de Biden Monument for himself. He will let history do that. DD

I propose that if APS can't get the air conditioners ready by the start of school, school should be delayed until every AC at every school is working properly before kids are brought into the CLASSROOM. It is not right for kids to have to sit in hot classrooms. RF
The judge's META decision is just another way for parents to AVOID RESPONSIBILITY and blame someone else for their failures in parenting and their children's imperfections. RJB
The WITCH HUNT against META was only a power brag by New Mexico. META should shut down all operations in the state and the data center in Los Lunas, and shut off Instagram, Facebook and Threads in the state. KP
New Mexico House and Senate members want to be paid. In ratings between states, we are at or near the top of everything NEGATIVE and at or near the bottom of everything positive. Do your jobs right and reverse that. Then it may be time to talk about pay. CAM

Decades old records for MEASLES cases are being broken. Does the president encourage vaccinations or offer free vaccines? Not Trump. He issues an executive order to replace the MMR vaccine with individual vaccines that don't even exist in the U.S. Not medically sound. AF
