Albuquerque team sweeps through regional, punches ticket to Junior Baseball League World Series
Roadrunner Little League's Junior All-Stars claimed the Southwest regional title and will compete in Taylor, Michigan, Aug. 9-16.

Albuquerque, and New Mexico, will be represented in the Junior Baseball League World Series.
Roadrunner Little League鈥檚 Junior Division All-Stars swept through its regional this past weekend in Seguin, Texas, capping things with a 10-2 win Monday over a team from Rosenberg, Texas, to claim the Southwest Junior League Baseball Championship.
With the win, the team of 13 and 14 year olds punched its ticket to Aug. 9-16 Junior Baseball League World Series in Taylor, Michigan. The JBLWS is an official tournament of Little League International.
The New Mexico squad is coached by manager Joe Rogillio and assistant coaches Adam Beggs and Jeff Barker.
New Mexico is the second JBL level team to qualify for the six-team 近距离内射合集 States bracket for the World Series. The winner of the 近距离内射合集 States bracket plays the winner of the International bracket, which this year includes teams that have qualified from Chineses Taipei, Australia, Canada, Italy, Aruba and Mexico.
In Monday鈥檚 regional-clinching win, Brycen Rogillio pitched a complete game, allowing six hits and one earned run while striking out six.
And the top of the lineup put in work. Shortstop Tyriano Cordova was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; second baseman Jake Stevens was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored; catcher Jeff Barker, Jr., was 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI; and cleanup hitting centerfielder Christopher Cybulski was 2-for-2, drawing two walks and driving in two runs.
Earlier in the regional tournament, New Mexico beat West Texas (El Paso) 6-5 on Friday and 12-1 over host Seguin on Saturday at 鈥淪mokey鈥� Joe Williams Field.
Cordova hit .778 in the regional and Barker hit .600 and drew six walks in three games.
