As the heatwave continues, PNM is offering financial assistance to low-income customers to prevent their electricity from being shut off due to overdue payments. The PNM Good Neighbor Fund provides up to $370 of credit per year to applicable customers, according to a PNM press release.
鈥淭he PNM Good Neighbor Fund is a vital tool for those who may be struggling to manage their energy bills, especially during the summer when energy usage is at its highest,鈥� said Ebony Vizcaino, PNM鈥檚 low-income program manager. 鈥淪ince the use of air conditioners can be up to 50 percent of a customer鈥檚 electric bill, by accessing this financial assistance, customers can focus on keeping their homes comfortable with less financial worry.鈥�
To qualify for the program customers cannot make more than the maximum monthly income for their household鈥檚 size. For example, a household of one cannot have a monthly income greater than $1,699. For information on how to apply for the program, visit PNM鈥檚 website.
