Books on the Bosque hosting four events this week

AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE
The Albuquerque bookstore is hosting six authors at four literary events this week.
Author Annie Hartnett will discuss her new novel 鈥淭he Road to Tender Hearts鈥� at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 31.
The book is described as a darkly comic and warm-hearted story about P.J. Halliday, an old man on a cross-country mission to reunite with Michelle, his high school crush. So he drives from Pondville, Massachusetts, with his adult daughter, two orphaned kids and a former nursing home therapy cat who can predict death.
They鈥檙e headed for the Tender Hearts Retirement Community in Arizona after P.J. discovers Michelle is single again.
Hartnett is also the author of 鈥淩abbit Cake鈥� and 鈥淯nlikely Animals.鈥�
On Saturday, Aug. 1, the bookstore presents three events.
At noon local authors Douglas Price (鈥淟iving Good, Living Well鈥�), Donna Marsh (鈥淕uardians of the Gate鈥� and 鈥淭he Quiet Ones鈥�) and Nancy DeYoung (鈥淢odern Shamans,鈥� 鈥淣ot My Dog鈥� and 鈥淭he Girl in the Tent: Memoir from the Road鈥�) will chat about and sign copies of their recent books.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, P.C. Verrone will talk about his debut novel 鈥淩abbit, Fox, Tar,鈥� about a mysterious Black woman whose arrival in an insular neighborhood threatens to shake its foundations. A Booklist review said it is 鈥渁 worthy look into contemporary racial politics and dispossession.鈥�
At 5 p.m. Saturday, Jamie Hood will discuss her new book 鈥淭rauma Plot: A Life.鈥� It is called 鈥渁 scalding work of personal and literary criticism.鈥�

AT BOOKWORKS
Nephi Craig will talk about his new book, 鈥淥ur Knives Will Save Us: Dispatches from a White Mountain Apache Chef,鈥� at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 30.
It is described as a book demonstrating the power of food to heal intergenerational wounds.

IN SANTA FE
At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Garcia Street Books, Alex Snider, an author, speaker and facilitator, will be in conversation with Pam Coleman about Snider鈥檚 book 鈥淪ometimes You Should Be Late.鈥�
Snider designs experiences that help people slow down in a world obsessed with speed and help them see themselves and others more clearly.
