Goatheads add another forward to roster

Lynden Breen is the 3rd player signed by the 1st-year ECHL franchise

The New Mexico Goatheads have added another player to their front line.

The Colorado Avalanche鈥檚 ECHL affiliate signed forward Lynden Breen, the Goatheads announced Friday.

Breen is the third player the first-year franchise has brought on so far 鈥� forward Grant Ahcan was signed last week and defenseman Trevor Zins followed on Tuesday. 

ECHL teams can carry a maximum of 20 players on the active roster 鈥� 18 skaters and 2 goalkeepers 鈥� during the regular season. Those numbers increase to 21 and 19, respectively, during the season鈥檚 first 30 days.

This will be Breen鈥檚 . He made his professional debut late in the 2024-25 campaign, appearing in five games with the South Carolina Stingrays.

Breen played in 59 regular-season contests with the Stingrays this past season. He logged four goals and 21 assists.

A native of Grand-Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick, Canada, Breen spent his college career at . He recorded 49 goals and 66 assists over 144 games in five seasons. He was the program鈥檚 captain his first two years, which included back-to-back trips to the NCAA tournament.

The Goatsheads begin their season Oct. 16 at the Rio Rancho Events Center.
