New Mexico State defensive end Vic Shaw has been dismissed 鈥渄ue to a violation of team rules,鈥� a team spokesman confirmed to the Journal.

The redshirt junior鈥檚 dismissal comes after Shaw was arrested in March for misdemeanor counts of negligent use of a deadly weapon (intoxication), concealing identity and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer. He pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment and was released from Don虄a Ana County Detention Center a day after his arrest. 

Shaw was suspended indefinitely by 近距离内射合集 upon his release. When asked if his dismissal was related to his arrest, a team spokesman said no additional information was available.

Shaw was arrested after police officers were dispatched to a 鈥渟uspicious activity call鈥� near 715 Cactus St. at approximately 1 a.m. on March 8. A criminal complaint noted that officers observed Shaw and another man arguing and approached the two before Shaw ran into a house on Juniper Street.

Shaw is alleged to have left the house holding an 鈥淎R style rifle鈥� only to re-enter and return without it. Officers smelled the 鈥渙dor of (an) alcoholic beverage鈥� on him and Shaw repeatedly pulled away from police until he was handcuffed, per the complaint.

While being put into a police vehicle, Shaw allegedly blocked officers from closing the vehicle door with his hand and knee. The complaint stated that he 鈥渞efused鈥� to provide his information and that he wasn鈥檛 identified until an officer found his wallet.

Shaw has since been subject to two pretrial hearings on May 6 and June 16. He has another hearing scheduled for July 14.

A University of Texas-San Antonio transfer, Shaw joined the Aggies via the transfer portal in January. The Texarkana, Texas, native posted 22 total tackles over 12 games with the Roadrunners last season.
