The Lobos鈥� class of 2027 is taking shape.

New Mexico landed commitments from three incoming prep seniors last week, including a three-star linebacker from one of the nation鈥檚 premier high school programs.

A look at the players the Lobos landed verbal commitments from in the last week:

LB DJ Clanton

Clanton, a 6-1, 210-pound linebacker, committed to UNM last week over offers from Arizona State, Utah, Oregon State, Colorado State, San Diego State, UNLV and Sacramento State. The three-star prospect is the first linebacker out of the class of 2027 to commit to the Lobos.

An incoming senior, Clanton made 63 total tackles (six for a loss) at powerhouse Mater Dei (Calif.) High School last season. He is the 95th-highest-rated prospect from California in the class of 2027, per 24/7 Sports.

TE Collin Benninger

Benninger, a 6-5, 225-pound tight end, committed to the Lobos on Sunday via social media following a weekend visit to UNM. The incoming senior chose the program over offers from UNLV, Nevada, San Diego State, Sacramento State and Cal Poly; Benninger visited the Rebels on June 5, per 24/7 Sports.

鈥淏eyond blessed!鈥� he posted via X with a commitment graphic attached.

Benninger caught 16 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns last fall with Central Catholic (California) High School. He鈥檚 the first tight end to commit to the Lobos in the Class of 2027.

DE Zade Brown

Brown, a 6-4, 250-pound defensive end, committed to UNM last week over offers from Northern Arizona and Dartmouth.

鈥淎fter a great official visit, I am excited to announce my COMMITMENT to (UNM),鈥� Brown posted via X. 鈥淚 want to thank God, my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting and helping me achieve my goals.鈥�

As a junior at Valley Vista (Arizona) High School, Brown made 60 total tackles (12.5 for a loss).

Taking a visit

The Lobos are fresh off a weekend that saw them host a handful of undecided recruits and verbal commits 鈥� including one already committed to another school.

A look at the group UNM hosted for visits:

RB Hershul Olloway Jr.

A 5-10, 170-pound incoming senior, Olloway rushed for 1,930 yards and 28 touchdowns last season at St. Pius High School. The reigning Journal Metro Male Athlete of the Year committed to UNM in May.

DL Gunner Edwards

Edwards, a 6-5, 240-pound incoming senior, made 26 total tackles (one for a loss) last season at Frenship (Texas) High School. He has additional offers from New Mexico State and North Texas.

CB Bryson Fleming

A 6-0, 195-pound incoming senior, Fleming made 45 total tackles last season at North Forney (Texas) High School. He committed to UNM in May over offers from Pittsburgh, San Diego State, Tulane, Memphis, North Texas, Sacramento State and Texas State.

WR Brian Manuel Jr.

Manuel, a 6-0, 170-pound incoming senior, caught 52 passes for 1,059 yards and 16 touchdowns last season at Atascocita (Texas) High School. Despite committing to Texas State on June 5, Manuel visited UNM and still holds offers from Iowa State, Iowa and Pittsburgh.

DL Ryder Molchanoff

A 6-4, 220-pound incoming senior, Molchanoff made 36 total tackles (six for a loss) and four sacks last season at Cathedral Catholic (California) High School. He holds additional offers from Army, Air Force and Northern Arizona.

TE Evan Macken

Macken, a 6-5, 205-pound incoming senior, caught 12 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns last season at Coppell (Texas) High School. He holds additional offers from Army, Cornell and Samford.
