Still rising
Singer-songwriter Dan Bern is playing two shows in New Mexico this week. First, he’ll play at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Sage Valley Pottery, 4908 Corrales Road in Corrales. Then, Bern will play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Engine70 Studios, 528 Jose St. in Santa Fe. Tickets are $27.73 for the Corrales show and $29.86 for the Santa Fe show at holdmyticket.com.
Remembering Jaune
The Tamarind Institute is hosting “Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: All My Relations,” an exhibit dedicated to works by the late artist and longtime Tamarind collaborator, paired with artists influenced by Smith. The show will run through April 10. The Tamarind Institute, 2500 Central Ave. SE, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
A global conversation
Gutiérrez-Hubbell House is hosting a celebration in honor of its new exhibit “Earth, Architecture, and Community: A Global Conversation” at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4. The free event will feature music from Oti Ruiz and Chuy Martinez, an adobe foot mixing station, face painting and more. To register, visit ampconcert.org.

At 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, a chancel choir, featuring soloists Nancy Maret, Anne Bradley, Nina Brown, Cheryl McCalla, Michael Roybal, Tim Willson and Travis Bregier, will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Requiem.” The concert is free and open to all. The First Prebysterian Church is located at 208 Grant Ave. in Santa Fe.
Flamenco flair
Teatro Paraguas is hosting Compania Chuscales y Mina Fajardo Spring Tablao Flamenco at 7 p.m. Friday, April 3, and April 17. The husband-and-wife duo will be accompanied by special guests and Teatro Paraguas Company Dancers. Tickets are $15-$25, plus fees, at teatroparaguasnm.org. Teatro Paraguas is located at 3205 Calle Marie Suite B in Santa Fe.
Great Ape-ril
It’s Great Ape-ril Discover Days at the ABQ BioPark Zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday of the month. Learn about chimpanzees on April 4, siamangs on April 11, orangutans on April 18, and gorillas on April 25. The event is included in the price of zoo admission, $1-$19.50, at artsandculture.cabq.gov. The ABQ BioPark Zoo is located at 903 Tenth St. SW.
Finding a connection
Benjamin Shendo (Jemez and Cochiti pueblos) is hosting “Indigenous Connections and Hoop Dancing” at 2-4 p.m. every Saturday in April. The events are free. The Open Space Visitor Center is located at 6500 Coors Blvd. NW.
