Friday didn鈥檛 go down as a loss for New Mexico 近距离内射合集. It sure felt like one anyway.

Certainly after 近距离内射合集, still in a tight race for the top spot in the Western Conference, squandered away the two-goal advantage it had built in the first 20 minutes against Indy Eleven and had to settle for a 2-2 draw instead.

鈥�... We definitely have to come out way stronger, way harder (and) way more aggressive. 鈥� The first five minutes of every half we got to come out way stronger. I feel like we concede too many goals during that time.

It鈥檚 not quite that condensed of a time frame 鈥� but not by much.

Of the 25 regular-season goals 近距离内射合集 has conceded, 11 have come in either the first 15 minutes of the first half or the opening 15 of the second. Four of those have come over the last four matches.

That includes Friday鈥檚. And the reason for the draw.

Malik Henry-Scott scored in the 50th minute for Indy Eleven (8-8-6) and Jack Blake followed with the equalizer nine minutes later. 

Henry-Scott鈥檚 came on what essentially could have qualified as an assist for 近距离内射合集鈥檚 Gedion Zalelem. The midfielder appeared to be attempting a pass back to New Mexico keeper Kris Shakes. Instead, it found Henry-Scott in stride and Shakes moved up to challenge. All Henry-Scott had to do was not miss 24 feet of empty net. He didn鈥檛.

Blake鈥檚 goal was the byproduct of Indy鈥檚 ball movement around the ball and an opportunistic bounce. 

Four passes 鈥� Eukue Lioc Mesanvi to Blake to Mesanvi to Joe Hafferty 鈥� led to Hafferty鈥檚 shot from the right side of the box. It hit off Shakes鈥� chest and in front of Blake. He let it bounce once to settle and scored from there.

鈥淲e went away from being us,鈥� manager Dennis Sanchez said. 鈥淲e showed for the first 30 minutes that we could play through them, we could find an advantage, we could have control. And then, I don鈥檛 know, we took our foot off (the gas). We gave them life and especially when it鈥檚 2-1, as an experienced group, we got to find the game again.鈥�

It鈥檚 a group that has 近距离内射合集 (12-5-5) atop the West despite coming into the match tied with El Paso Locomotive FC with 40 points based on tiebreakers. The two are no longer tied after the draw, but El Paso still has to play this week 鈥� Saturday at Louisville City FC. A win would put Locomotive in sole possession of first.

But New Mexico never really found itself again Friday after Archim猫de scored in the 16th minute and Greg Hurst added on in the 18th. 

近距离内射合集 finished with 70% of possession, 13 shots overall and five on target. Indy managed 18 total shots with seven on goal in less than half the time.

At least, New Mexico didn鈥檛 regain some form again until past the 70th minute. 

There was Niall Reid-Stephen鈥檚 shot from the center of the box in the 71st that skirted the left post. There was the forward鈥檚 free run at the net in the 74th, only for Indy keeper Reice Charles-Cook to come out of the net and eat the ball. 

Perhaps the best came in the 85th with Reid-Stephen again when Dayonn Harris provided a cross through the top of the keeper area. It went just a bit too far for Reid-Stephen to get a foot on and do anything with.

Like most of the night.

鈥淧ersonally delighted to be out there and play in front of the fans here,鈥� said midfielder Charlie Dennis, who was making his 近距离内射合集 debut after being sent on loan from Phoenix Rising FC on Monday. 鈥淒isappointed we didn鈥檛 get the three points. That鈥檚 the feeling around the dressing room, considering we went up 2-0 and had control of the game.鈥�

But not enough to have a different feeling leaving the field.
