DIY kitchen keeps everything secure
A custom-built plywood camp kitchen designed for Jeep camping fits a stove, sink, griddle and more
Arthur Vall-Spinosa made this convertable kitchen several years ago when he and his family were big into Jeep camping in the Southwest.
It is constructed from 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch plywood, and hardware fittings like chains, hinges and eyebolts. The legs are aluminum tubing and can detach to be carried separately.
One side is sloped to fit snugly against the reclining back seat of Vall-Spinosa鈥檚 Jeep, eliminating wasted space. A stove, griddle, coffee pot, sink (filled with cooking pots, plates and cups) and the Coleman lantern all fit inside when closed, and also includes a silverware drawer and a paper towel rack.
