CATCHES OF THE WEEK
Preston Fuller caught a 2陆-pound channel catfish at Clayton Lake at sunset using shrimp on Aug. 3.
Victoria Baca had good luck catching largemouth bass with white spinners at Navajo Lake on Aug. 5.
Eric Artiaga had good luck at Lake Roberts targeting catfish with hot dogs in recent weeks.
Cole Hitchcock got lots of bites by the rocks on the east side of Sumner Lake using a chartreuse crawdad and reeled in this largemouth bass on Aug. 7.

Northeast fishing report
The most recent report for Cabresto Lake was received July 30. At that time, fishing for trout was slow to fair using size-16 hackle flies.
Streamflow on the Cimarron River near Cimarron on Tuesday morning was 26.8 cubic feet per second (cfs). The most recent report was received July 30. At that time, fishing for trout was fair to good using size-14 beaded egg-pattern flies.

The most recent report for Canjilon Lakes was received July 30. At that time, fishing for trout was slow using spinner lures. Anglers noted a large amount of vegetation growing in the lake.

Fishing for bluegill and catfish at Navajo Lake was very good using nightcrawlers. Fishing for largemouth bass was fair to good using white spinners.
The most recent report for the Rio Chama was received Aug. 6. At that time, fishing for cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout below El Vado Lake was good using red Copper Johns and Rainbow Warriors. Streamflow below El Vado Lake on Tuesday morning was 97.1 cfs; streamflow below Abiqui煤 Lake on Tuesday morning was 188 cfs. Please remember, from the river-crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiqui煤 upstream 7 miles to the base of Abiqui煤 Dam is special trout waters with a bag limit of only two trout.
Streamflow on the Rio Grande at Albuquerque on Tuesday morning was 0 cfs.
Streamflow on the San Juan River near Archuleta on Tuesday morning was 921 cfs.

Southwest fishing report
Fishing conditions at Bear Canyon Lake have been adversely affected in the aftermath of the Trout Fire.
With recent water releases from Elephant Butte and Caballo lakes, water levels are changing across Caballo Lake; boaters should exercise caution in low-water areas. For more information, visit the Caballo Lake State Park webpage or call 575-743-3942.
Due to historically low water levels at Elephant Butte Lake, vessel launching at the Marina del Sur boat ramp is hazardous because of sediment and debris on the ramp. Four-wheel drive is required on the ramp. All launching and retrieval of vessels is undertaken at the operator鈥檚 own risk. Park staff are working daily to clear sediment and debris as lake levels continue to decline. Visitors are encouraged to report any hazards or concerns to park staff. The most recent report for Bataan Lake was received on July 30. At that time, fishing for catfish was good using nightcrawlers and fair for largemouth bass using shallow-diving crankbaits.
