Jiraiyah Hurst reeled in a trout on the fly at Shuree Ponds on July 19, using an elk hair caddis.

Kristl Walker landed a tiger muskie at Bluewater Lake while on a camping trip on July 11, using nothing more than a hot dog for bait.

Josiah Tyler Norman landed his personal-best largemouth bass, an 8-pounder, using a white shad lure at Elephant Butte Lake on July 7.

Yazmin O. Salas had an amazing day and limited out on trout using Garlic and Salmon Peach PowerBait in just a couple of hours at Bonito Lake on July 11.

Northeast fishing report

Streamflow on the Cimarron River near Cimarron on Tuesday morning was 31.6 cfs. The most recent report for was received July 16. At that time, fishing for trout was fair to good while using PowerBait.

The most recent report for Conchas Lake was received July 9. At that time, fishing for walleye was fair to good using green crankbaits.

The most recent report for Coyote Creek was received July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was good using Pistol Pete flies.

Streamflow on the Pecos River near Pecos on Tuesday morning was 20.3 cfs. The most recent report was received July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was fair to good using worms.

Fishing for trout on the Red River was good using a white/silver Panther Martin spinner or on the fly. Streamflow below the Red River Hatchery on Tuesday morning was 22.2 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande below the Taos Junction Bridge on Tuesday morning was 141 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Hondo near Valdez on Tuesday morning was 8.57 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Mora near Terrero on Tuesday morning was 6.57 cfs.

Streamflow on the Rio Pueblo near Pe帽asco on Tuesday morning was 2.57 cfs.

Northwest fishing report

The most recent report for Abiqui煤 Lake was received July 9. At that time, fishing for yellow perch was very good using soft bait on a Texas rig. Contact the Abiqui煤 Lake Main Office at 505-685-4371 for updated lake conditions and closure information.

Streamflow on the Animas River below Aztec on Wednesday morning was 110 cfs. Fishing for catfish was slow to fair while using live worms, hot dogs and Panther Martins.

Fishing was slow to fair at Bluewater Lake using Panther Martin lures, for Tiger Muskie and was fair when using hot dogs. The most recent report for Cochiti Lake was received July 2. At that time, fishing for northern pike was slow to fair using diving shad.

The most recent report for Navajo Lake was received July 16. At that time, fishing for smallmouth bass was slow to fair using white curly tailed grubs and white 鈪�-ounce jigheads.

Streamflow on the Rio Chama below El Vado Lake on Tuesday morning was 99.8 cfs; streamflow below Abiqui煤 Lake on Tuesday morning was 112 cfs. Please remember, from the river-crossing bridge on U.S. Highway 84 at Abiqui煤 upstream 7 miles to the base of Abiqui煤 Dam is special trout waters with a bag limit of only two trout.

Streamflow on the Rio Grande at Albuquerque on Tuesday morning was 16.2 cfs.

Streamflow on the San Juan River near Archuleta on Tuesday morning was 883 cfs. The most recent report was received July 16. At that time, fishing for brown trout in the bait section was fair to good worms. Fishing for rainbow trout in the quality waters was good using red annelid size-22 flies, hand-tied flies, pinched crawlers and worms.

The most recent report for Seven Springs Kids Pond was received July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was very good using Garlic PowerBait.

The department received no reports for the following waterbodies over the past three weeks: Albuquerque Area Drains, Brazos River, Canjilon Lakes, Lake Farmington, Liam Knight Pond, McGaffey Lake, Rio Cebolla, Riverside Park Pond (Aztec Pond #1), San Gregorio Lake, Trout Lakes, Tiger Park Reservoir and Tingley Beach.

Southwest fishing report

Fishing conditions at Bear Canyon Lake have been adversely affected in the aftermath of the Trout Fire.

Fishing for largemouth bass at Bill Evans Lake was very good.

Water levels are changing across Caballo Lake; boaters should exercise caution in low-water areas.

Fishing was fair to good for largemouth bass and white bass at Elephant Butte Lake using a white shad lure. The South Monticello boat ramp is currently closed due to low water levels. Streamflow on the Gila River near Gila on Tuesday morning was 63.9 cfs.

Streamflow at the Gila Waters near Gila Hot Springs on Wednesday morning was 35.9 cfs.

The most recent report for Lake Roberts was received July 9. At that time, fishing for trout was fair to good using Pink PowerBait and salmon eggs. Fishing for catfish was fair to good when using hot dogs.

The most recent report for Percha Dam was received July 9. At that time, fishing for white bass was slow using horse-head jigs.

Fishing for trout at Bonito Lake was good using Garlic and Salmon Peach PowerBait. Only fishing activities are permitted at Bonito Lake.
