Two New Mexico campgrounds feted

Two New Mexico campgrounds 鈥� Camp Darkmoon in Belen and Big Arsenic Springs in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument near Embudo 鈥� have been selected to in America for 2026.

Hipcamp鈥檚 platform has more than 500,000 campsites across every state, it says. The rankings are calculated by the Hipcamp team from data points including camper reviews, regional diversity, trends and host hospitality.

鈥淲e鈥檝e sat around the campfire with people from all walks of life, each on their own adventures, and they鈥檝e shown us how similar we really are,鈥� Roan and Ivy Shafo, owners of Camp Darkmoon, told Hipcamp.

鈥淥ur favorite feedback is when people say they feel safe and peaceful here. It鈥檚 an honor to know that our simple little campsite provides a space for that. We hope we inspire others to embrace their passions and start a project of their own,鈥� they said.

Camping is a way to get out without spending a ton of cash.
