The Bureau of Land Management is selling fuelwood permits for personal use to the public at select BLM locations and online.

The fuelwood permits are $5-$20 per cord, and in almost all field offices the permits are valid for cutting only dead (down or standing) pi帽on and juniper (cedar).

Minimum and maximum cords for purchase, and rules, regulations and timing vary by field office.

Permits for the Taos Field Office and Las Cruces District Office are also available online at and require payment by credit or debit. When purchasing online, you will be required to print your permit, maps, instructions and haul tags.
