One killed in crash involving semitrailer on I-40 in Albuquerque
A tractor-trailer allegedly ran a red light and struck an Audi, killing a passenger and critically injuring the driver Tuesday morning

One person is dead after a fatal car crash on westbound Interstate 40 Tuesday morning.
Gilbert Gallegos, spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department, said in a news release two people were in a black Audi traveling north on the northbound Interstate 25 frontage road when a semitrailer ran a red light at the intersection with Interstate 40 westbound and struck the side of the vehicle.
鈥淭he passenger was killed instantly, while the driver was transported in critical condition,鈥� Gallegos said.
Gallegos said the semi driver was not impaired, though the crash remains under investigation.
