While I agree with Sam LeDoux about the problem the DEA caused in northern New Mexico in regards to FENTANYL, I think he missed the real problem. Why do people get hooked on drugs? It is the hopelessness that they鈥檝e had for years. Years that Democrats have controlled the area. SS

What. The. Hell? The city is trying to force the residents of the Albuquerque High Lofts to open their COURTYARD to the public. Another example of Keller鈥檚 idiotic support of homelessness, disregard of public safety and lack of common sense. Let him share his backyard with the public. Unreal! KO

I would love to see a study on how many HOMELESS PEOPLE are really from Albuquerque versus how many have moved here because our mayor has made it so comfortable? Oh never mind, we have already been told nothing can be done about it and we have to live with it. SDG

I enjoyed reading Elizabeth Secor's review of the EVANESCENCE concert (July 16 Journal), and Hillary Duff before that. Am I a Duff fan? No. Evanescence? Not really. But, her writing is engaging and has given me insight to the justification for the astronomical prices of concert tickets now. KA

Albuquerque charter schools are part of APS and publicly funded. I do not believe they need to be teaching MIDDLE EASTERN history, unless it's a special after-school activity. Too many students don't even know enough American history. Start by teaching more of that. MW

Thanks to the Journal for such a terrific continuing series on ROUTE 66. The stories and the photos are wonderful, and we still have more installments to come. It鈥檚 an excellent look at the heart of NM! DS

They say Billy the Kid shot a man for snoring. That's nothing compared to the wild city of Albuquerque. The Journal reports a 32-year-old man killed his upstairs 22-year-old female neighbor because her dog KNOCKED WATER OVER and it dripped on his balcony. Shameful. SDG

In the past, WARTIME FATALITIES were mainly anonymous to the American public, today we see their young faces on TV or on social media soon after they die. While the impact on the families is immeasurable, we, the public, cannot remain silent about this illegal war. RF

Gregg Hull's RIO RANCHO has nothing but bad, trashy, weed-filled streets and a wasteland golf course. It is the land of fried chicken, fast food, car washes, few shopping options, too many housing developments and too few services. Vote no to Gregg Hull! MH

As registered independents, many of us shy away from Republican candidates who consistently go by what our president and his associates dictate. Gregg Hull, a seemingly excellent candidate for GOVERNOR, would be wise to emphasize his separation from that far-right influence, especially here in our traditionally left-leaning state. KW
