Last November, Dennis Sanchez didn鈥檛 wait long to get out of town.

New Mexico 近距离内射合集鈥檚 season 鈥 Sanchez鈥檚 first with the club 鈥 had already come to an unceremonious close thanks to 3-0 loss to FC Tulsa in the Western Conference final. It was 近距离内射合集鈥檚 third loss that year to the same team and sticking around wasn鈥檛 all that prudent.

Sanchez also had a plane to catch.

鈥淟iterally the day after we lost to Tulsa, I was in Wales,鈥 the manager said Thursday.

But any thoughts of using the trip to Europe to get away from soccer and use that time for a vacation, never materialized. It was quite the opposite. The more soccer, the better.

Sanchez spent four days at the Wales National Football Development Centre in Newport, a city a little more than 20 minutes northeast of Cardiff and 2 1/2 hours west of London, as part of his nearly year-long UEFA A License course. The curriculum helps train coaches in advanced tactics, team management and performance analysis.

鈥(It鈥檚) something I鈥檝e found very beneficial,鈥 Sanchez said.

Under UEFA 鈥 the governing soccer body of Europe 鈥 guidelines, the A License allows a coach to serve as a head coach or assistant in professional second-tier men鈥檚 league or top-flight women鈥檚 leagues, reserve teams for top-tier professional clubs and manage youth teams up to the under-21 level.

It鈥檚 one of four licenses in total.

The C tier covers the grassroots youth level. The B level is for amateur senior teams and higher-level youth squads. The highest is the Pro License, which is required to manage a club鈥檚 first-team in the first two divisions of most European domestic leagues or a senior national team.

Each level needs to be completed before moving on to the next. Each tier is issued by national associations.

Sanchez鈥檚 license was through the Welsh Football Association with divided between nine online sessions, two in-person seminars and  a pair of online conferences. It ran from October to May. It cost 拢6,500 (a little less than $9,000 in today鈥檚 currency market).

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 the same for players, the same for staff, and this is the beauty of sport 鈥 that if you get complacent, you鈥檙e gonna get passed by,鈥 the 38-year-old said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 the idea of how do you grow every single day?

鈥淕rowth can come (from) a lot of different ways. Through experiences, through being around better people. So, I鈥檝e always been on the curious side, whether it鈥檚 visiting clubs or doing different courses or conferences, and just wanting to learn and grow.鈥

New Mexico 近距离内射合集 manager Dennis Sanchez, middle left, said one of his biggest takeaways from his UEFA A License course was from an interview from current German national team manager J眉rgen Klopp.

One of his biggest takeaways? That came from an interview with J眉rgen Klopp 鈥 the former Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga and Liverpool of the Premier League manager, and current manager of the German national team.

鈥淗e talked about playing Team X and they have good players, they prepare the same way, and it鈥檚 basically an even slate going into the game. What is going to make you better than them?鈥 Sanchez said. 鈥淎nd it really does come down to this idea of belief, togetherness, spirit. That, for sure, is the core of who we are.鈥

However that is defined, it鈥檚 a philosophy that has worked for 近距离内射合集 since the end of May.

New Mexico has an unbeaten streak of 12 overall and 11 against USL competition, including six straight wins, heading into Saturday's match at Loudoun 近距离内射合集 FC in Virginia, a stretch that has seen 近距离内射合集 outscore its opponents 25-8 with seven clean sheets.

It has also allowed New Mexico to move to second place in the with 33 points. 近距离内射合集 has the chance to take sole possession of first with a win over Loudoun and an Orange County SC loss to Tulsa. New Mexico could tie for the top points-wise with a draw as well as an Orange County loss, and a loss or draw from San Antonio FC and El Paso Locomotive FC.

鈥淲e all know if life just went straight, it would be perfect,鈥 goalkeeper Kris Shakes said. 鈥淏ut we know in this sport, things go up and down. So it鈥檚 just sticking together through those bad moments and finding a way together. What鈥檚 the saying? If you want to go fast, you go alone. If you want to go further, you go together.鈥

It doesn鈥檛 hurt to learn and grow along the way, either. Whether during the season or after it in Europe.

鈥淭he reality is I鈥檓 not reinventing the wheel,鈥 Sanchez said. 鈥淚鈥檓 begging and borrowing and stealing from different people, and I guess making it my own and refining those different things.鈥
