Pianist David Solem will perform at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe. The program will include works by Muzio Clementi and Francis Poulenc. Admission is a freewill offering and is open to all. The church is located at 208 Grant Ave. in Santa Fe.

Leaping lizards!

The ABQ BioPark Zoo is hosting a conservation fundraiser, Reptiles After Hours, from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. The event, which is for adults 18 and over, will feature reptile feeding and training demonstrations, a VIP Aldabra tortoise meet and greet, cocktails at the Gator Swamp and more. General admission is $100 per person, and $125 for VIP admission at my.bioparksociety.org/reptilesafterhours. Space is limited, and ticket sales end Monday, Aug. 31.

The Albuquerque Little Theatre is opening its 2026-27 season on Friday, Aug. 28, with 鈥淢ean Girls: The Musical.鈥� The show runs through Sept. 13. Tickets are $28-$38 at albuquerquelittletheatre.org. The ALT is located at 224 San Pasquale Ave. SW.

The Route 66 Centennial Traveling Exhibit will be making a three-day stop at the New Mexico History Museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30. At 2 p.m. Sunday, exhibit organizer and filmmaker Katrina Parks will preview her new documentary 鈥淎tomic Legacy on Route 66.鈥� The N.M. History Museum is located at 113 Lincoln Ave. in Santa Fe.

Collect them all

The New Mexico Coin Stamp Collectible Expo is coming to Hotel Mesa Albuquerque Midtown from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30. The convention says, 鈥渋f you collect it, this expo will have it,鈥� and will feature vendors of currency, comic books, art, books, militaria, Hot Wheels and more. Admission is $7 for all three days. The expo is holding a canned food drive in conjuction with the event, and those who bring a can of food will receive a free collectible item. Hotel Mesa Albuquerque Midtown is located at 2020 Menaul Blvd. NE.

Getting your fiber

Casa San Ysidro: The Guti茅rrez-Minge House is hosting a heritage spinning and weaving class featuring fiber products from 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. The class will feature examples of products from territorial and colonial New Mexico. Participants will learn how to knit easy socks and explore techniques for crafting everyday items. Admission is $4-$6 at artsandculture.cabq.gov. Casa San Ysidro: The Guti茅rrez-Minge House is located at 973 Old Church Road.

String theory

The Sandia Mountain Dulcimers are bringing the 鈥淪weet Sounds of History鈥� to the South Valley Library at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Listen and learn about dulcimers, an instrument belonging to the string family. The program will include a sampling of music, including slow airs, Celtic jigs and traditional fiddle tunes. The library is located at 3904 Isleta Blvd. SW. The event is free.
